This is not your typical Carmenere. Born in the Chilean Andes and matured patiently for 12 months in French oak barrels, This Gran Reserva has layers yet to be revealed. On the nose, expect that characteristic ripe black fruit (such as plums, blackberries), but accompanied by elegant spicy notes (black pepper, perhaps a touch of clove) and a subtle embrace of wood (vanilla, mocha coffee). On the palate it is velvety, with body, The tannins are present but rounded, and the long finish invites further conversation. It's intense but kind, complex but enjoyable.
